God Blessing in people’s lives

We all know about the story how Jesus feeds 5,000 with just two fishes and five loaves of bread. This is something everyone who walks with God experiences at some point in their life. Though the story may change, but the essence remains the same, that is – when the supply in hand is totally inadequate to meet the demand, the demand is yet met. That’s the blessing of God.

God’s blessing

Our definition of blessing may vary from individual to individual so it is important to first know and understand how God the Father wants us to have the blessings. Jesus said “The thief comes only to steel, kill and destroy. But I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10). He has the same plans He had for the children of Israel while they were in exile. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

God wants to bless you

God wants to pour out His blessings on you and your loved ones. Bible says “The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow” (Deuteronomy 28:12). God wants you to be blessed, not only in heavenly places, but also here and now on this earth. When you live righteously for the Lord, you prepare yourself to receive His abundance.

But you must first seek His kingdom and His righteousness

In Deuteronomy 8:18 we read “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth.” Our Lord Jesus also clearly said “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). God wants to bless you, but He wants to be first in your life, in your home and in your finance. You must put Him above all else and live a life of obedience and a life of righteousness.

When you don’t receive blessings

Sometimes you may not see blessings in your life for two reasons. Either you don’t ask or you ask with wrong motives. "You have not, because you ask not." (James 4:2). Although God has all power, He will not do anything unless someone asks Him to. That’s because He is not going to force His will, even when He may be desperately longing to intercede. But yes, He is constantly looking for someone to stand in the gap to pray intercessory prayers in behalf of others in need. Secondly, many a times we also very cleverly try to wrap our selfish desires in clothes of religiosity. Sometimes we don’t receive God's richest blessings in our lives, because we ask with the wrong motives. You should seek His will for each thing you are praying for.
